Dissertation and thesis research which involves human subjects must be approved by an Institutional Research Board. Subject interviews, ethnographic research and work with children must comply with federal code. Graduate students in the humanities navigate a system designed to regulate clinical trials. This workshop and discussion will explore the challenges of conducting human subjects research in theatre projects. The workshop will review projects that qualify for expedited approval or exemption and informed consent forms. Bring potential projects, application forms and questions for discussion.
